Foxglove or Fingerhut (thimble) in German. Beautiful flower with lots of uses and a legend attached to it. It is very poisonous but at the same time it’s a powerful medicine for cardiac insufficiency. The Irish have the legend that the blossoms served as hats for the fairy folk and those fairies gifted them to foxes as gloves (hence the name) so they could more easily sneak into the chicken coop.
