In German this flower is called Schmuckkörbchen which literally translates to little jewelry basket. Ya I know, the German way of naming things is often very weird. This flower has no other use other than to be a fly by food stop for our winged friends and to be pretty.f
The German name of this flower doesn’t sound half as nice as the English one. Also Kronen-Lichtnelke doesn’t sound romantic one bit, just kinda silly, at least for German ears. However, during the Middle Ages this flower was used as medicinal herb.
