NO Sugar Wanted

I live sugar free for about 4 years and I have no intention to go back to sugar ever (hell might freeze over and the governments might stop to collect taxes from us, but I will never go back to sugar). Now, the story how I got there goes not like you now may think. It was not because of weight issues, not due to allergies and for sure not because of diabetic. And if the following can help just one person, it was worth the entire blog thing.

It all started back in 2005. I was diagnosed with a severe chronic depression. It was a long dark road but eventually I got through it. I started to feel better but the one thing I couldn’t get a handle on was that constant fatigue. I never had enough energy for not even the most simple things, like household chores. I’m sure, if you ever had to deal with depression you know exactly what I’m talking about. However, as long as you are still stuck in this really depressive phase, you don’t give a fuck about how your home looks, but as soon as you feel better you start to care just that you do not have enough energy to fix things. So you have to find a way to fix your energy level first, right. But how?

I started to do some research and so I ran into Keto (ketogenic diet – high fad, medium protein, low carbs) and that changed everything. All old food items had to go (gave it to a friend) and I switched my diet to keto without any exceptions. That also meant no more sugar. Did that mean I had to abandon all the yummi stuff? Hell no, I just replaced the really bad stuff with healthy alternatives. And it fixed just everything. It fixed even things I didn’t know could be fixed. I have more energy than ever before, no more brain fog, my skin is looking great, my joints don’t hurt anymore (there is a story about the hurting joints, but that is for sometime later), I feel so much better in general and my family doctor (who never heard of keto) can not believe how awesome my blood test results are.

I lived strictly on keto for almost 4. I still eat healthy and sugar free. It is important what you eat because what you eat will influence how you feel. Be safe and have a pawesome day.
