For German kids the May Beetle is special due to the very old (1915) fairy tale about Little Peter’s Journey to the Moon (Peterchen’s Mondfahrt). In the past these beetles where kinda common during the spring time but nowadays they got pretty rare. So this was a lucky catch.
This looks very idyllic but what you can’t see from this perspective is, that there is social housing around this green area and a school center. On days where not much people are out and about it’s a nice place for walkies.
Same street, different tree, This is one of those ancient apple trees we got here in our area. These trees are very tough, they carry a lot of very small very sour but still very aromatic apples. They are awesome for apple pie in the fall.
