This lake is man made. It is about 60 years old. When they developed this part of town they made and named it after the great US President. There is a tiny island in the middle which serves as breeding ground for countless birds. I actually grew up here. We didn’t live here but my mother owned a pet shop very close by.
From April 01st til July 15th it’s breeding season here in Lower Saxony. For us dog owners that means, by law we are not allowed to let our dogs off leash during that time. Only exception are dog parks. That law applies regardless of the dog size and where you are, city or country side.
