Now I’m knitting this sock for the 2nd time. It was almost done, just 30 more rows and then I noticed the mistake I made 50 rows ago. So what to do? Ignoring it? I mean nobody else would notice it, these sox are for myself and they will be covered by my boots anyway. But there is this tiny voice repeating what my parents use to tell me when I was a little kid “When you do something, do it right! All your work must be perfect. Always finish what you started.”. Typical german values and in general there is nothing wrong about it, just sometimes they seem a bit counterproductive. I really could have just ignored that mistake and finish it, but instead I unraveled it and started fresh from the start. Yes, I could have knit it back to the mistake but that just doesn’t feel right.
Our weather today is just right for knitting. It’s raining again, the sky grey and the temps are sitting at just 17°C. I actually closed the window and lit some candles for some coziness. Ami refuses to go out (she hates wet paws and when the rain messes up her hairdo) and so I have time to knit and binge “Lie to me” on Disney+. Life is good, even when it’s raining. Have a pawesome day ya’ll and stay safe.
