My Monday started at 5.30. Ok, almost, it took me about 30 minutes to roll outta bed after the alarm clock woke me up. The mornings are really chill already and it was just that cozy in bed. But eventually I would get up and ready, T. and I wanted to do our grocery early so she could be in time for her riding lessons. We always do our grocery together and we always hit up our local Lidl. When that was done I went to our local dollar store for fun, new yarn and some misc. items. One of them being an items for T. she asked me to look for. So after a good half hour I carried my booty home and then I was about to brew a fresh coffee when I thought it would be good to drop T’s item over at her home (she and her family live right next to me). I hopped down my stairs, stepped outside my door and pulled the door shut . . . as soon as the door snapped into the lock I realized that I forgot my key and that is was stuck inside. Scheibenkleister! T. has my spare key but since my key was sticking inside, that wouldn’t work. T’s hubby and I discussed briefly if it would make sense to try to use a ladder to get to my sundeck but we dismissed that pretty fast. So he called the locksmith for me. I had to wait for about an hour til he arrived and then it took him about 20 minutes to crack my door without destroying it. I’m actually impressed how safe my door is. To put the cherry on top of the cake I received the invoice about 166 bucks to be paid right away on the spot. *gulp*
But you know, it could have been much worse. It gets much more expensive when they have to drill open the lock or break the door open. And I had the money. Yes I wanted to spend it for some new winter wardrobe, but oh well, I will get there eventually plus this was the first time in 55 years I had to call a locksmith to open my door. That’s pretty good, don’t you think?
