New socks project . . . actually, no, it’s kinda an ancient project. I started these in spring this year, got sidetracked, like always, and kinda forgot about them. Well, end of the year, time to finish up all lose projects. I love knitting socks. It’s fun, relaxing and kinda cozy. The material for a pair of really good socks costs less than a pack of cigarettes. As soon as you got some practice you can finish a pair really fast. Socks are really useful and everybody needs them (maybe except those who live in the south). You can make them for yourself (and believe me, if you had handmade socks ones, you never ever want store bought again), gift them to friends and family, sell them or give them for charity. You can binge your favorite shows or listen to an audio book while knitting. It’s basically like a bonsai vacation you can have every day. Have a pawesome day and be safe out there. ❤
So there is this German TV show, very small production I think and not even very popular. It’s about spoiled teenagers who get send to a monastery/cloister for a week to get their attitude straight. That includes no cellphones, TV and that like, no smoking, no drugs, no alcohol, no make up, no social media. Instead getting up with the sun and working for their community. I find it quite funny. There was this elderly nun. She must have been in her 80th, totally sweet lady. She was talking to one of the candidates, a 16 years young brat who never did anything useful in her life. The nun asked her what she would like to do with her life, what she would like to accomplish in her life and that girl responded “I want to be an influencer”. The nun looked at her, thinking for a sec and trying to make sense of what she just heard, and then she said: “Oh Influenza, ya that’s not nice to have!” You need to know that both words sound nearly identical. This old nun nailed it without knowing what she did. Influencer are as annoying and useless like Influenza. =p Have a pawesome day everybody and be safe out there. ❤
I got sidetracked . . . again *le sigh*. Last night my friend told me that she would love some warm winter cloth for her tiny chihuahua Mr. D. and we where wondering if I could either knit or crochet some. So this morning, still on my first coffee, I went and looked for a tutorial of some sort. I found a really really pawesome one over there at Twin Star Hooks . For the yarn I used a German brand and I had to adjust the size a bit since Mr. D. is very tiny, but it was super easy and super much fun. You bet, I’ll do some more of those. And I can’t wait to check out her other tutorials. Well, off for some more crochet fun or so. Have a pawesome day and be safe out there. ❤
As you can see, our weather is finally starting to catch up to the calendar. We love this kind of weather. As it gets more nasty outside, it’s getting more cozy inside. There might even be a heavy storm on the way and much more rain. Have a pawesome day and be safe out there.
Here you see a poster that was designed by our city government and plastered all over the place. It informs us about a 50 Euro fine if we fail to clean up after our dogs. In general I agree with that and I believe that it should be a matter of course and respect that we clean up after our dogs. Actually it is quite embarrassing that some people need to be reminded, yet even forced to to do that. So what’s the point here? Hang on, we are getting there.
Every time you want to establish an administrative act, you need to make sure you are willing an able to enforce it, else it would be as effective as a hedgehog fart. In this case the city government wants to establish a fine for not cleaned up poop. In order to get to that money they will have to bust people right when it is happening, else you can not prove who did it. They would actually have lots of people patrolling at least those areas most frequented by dogs on walkies. Did that happen? Nope! And people still don’t clean up after there dogs simply because they are ignorant idiots and nothing happens anyway. Hedgehog Fart right there!
Public Trash Can maintained by the city administration of the city of Oldenburg
And now we get to the point. Here you see a public trash can. The same people who are responsible for that poster are in charge of emptying the public trash cans. You see, lots of people are cleaning up behind their dogs but the city administration fails to do their job. It is their responsibility to keep these can’s clean, tidy and empty but for some strange reason they just don’t do it. And it’s not like we would have tons of public trash cans. They got rid of most of them but still, they fail to empty those few left. Now I wonder, do they have to pay a fine to us, the tax payers?
