Took this picture about 4 weeks ago and almost forgot about it. Now this is our “Pulverturm” (powder magazine). It the last remaining part of the original historic fortification. It was build in 1529 and was used til 1765.
This is a part of the original old moat. They started to build the castle Oldenburg around 1100 which makes this piece of moat a very old body of water.
