We had a front yard like millions of other front yards across Germany, boring, useless lawn. Then my landlord, and one of my closest friends, turned it into a wild flower meadow. Don’t get me wrong now, it took a ton of work to get where it is today (3rd year now) but it was totally worth it. Lawn is useless and doesn’t provide anything, except work. Wild flower meadows provide a habitat for all the insects we depend on, like bees, bumble bees, etc. And it looks so much better.
A Monday is what you choose to be. Fill it with positive things, like smile at a stranger, cuddle you dog or cat, take a walk without your phone (yeah fucking social media can live without your attention for an hour), sit in the sun and have a coffee or a tea. Don’t let the Monday control you, instead you control the Monday.
I learned something this week. After I had run into the wrong person again, I was wondering why this is always happening to me. I tried to find a pattern but failed. Then I stumbled over a short video on my YouTube feed and to my own amazement it really was helpful. It explained: some people are like leafs, they come for a season, take what they need and then disappear again, then there are branch people, they stay longer than the leaf people, you can stick with them for a while but eventually, with the next big storm they will fall away. And then there are the root people. They are the ones who stay with you, no matter what, they make you strong and you can hold onto them no matter how strong the storm. I have my root people, since 25 years. They live in the house right beside me. I can lean on them no matter what and the other way around. So, what do I care about the leaf person that tumbles away in the spring breeze.
