Noooo, not what you think. 😁 But let’s start at the beginning. Some years ago I developed some sleeping issues. First it was falling asleep and then it was waking up and then not being able to fall back asleep. I’m sure a lot of you know exactly what I’m talking about. After some time I figured that audio books can be a big help with that. The trick is that the book is more on the boring/slightly entertaining side (a really good book would be rather counterproductive since you would want to keep listening instead of dosing just off to lala land) and a pleasant voice.
So a few weeks back I was looking for a new audio book and stumbled about Brothers Grimm complete collection. 30 hours filled with 200 fairy and folk tales. What could go wrong, right? I mean, when you think of Brothers Grimm you automatically think of the Disney versions. Cute stuff you can read to your kids as bedtime stories that always have a happy end. Right? Well, no, wrong! 😮 These where the original versions as written down by the brothers. In that funny ancient German, but that wasn’t even the worse of it. 30 hours of bloody murder, chopped off heads, hands and legs, extortion, abduction, rape, assault and battery, fraud, theft and even two cases of racism. I swear, there is no difference between this and the crime statistic of Detroit city.
I knew that the original versions of those stories where darker then what we tell our children today, but not to that extend. Honestly, I was shocked. It’s even worse than the modern creepy pasta you can find on the internet. And there people keep saying that everything was better in the past. I’m not so sure about that anymore.

Every Saturday evening I tell Ami that we not gonna get up with the sun in the morning, that we just gonna sleep in and then have an opulent breakfast with all sorts of yummi stuff. Every time Ami rolls her eyes at me, telling me “ya sure and then we’ll win the lottery”. Comes the morning we wake up, look at each other and roll outta bed to get going. She enjoys our Sunday morning adventures so much that I just can’t stay in bed. When she is happy, that makes me happy. During the summer months it’s especially fun. Also, after all this weeks of rain our “dog park” is just one single giant patch of mud. The earth is soaked in precious water. That is why we go to the area beside the school with that really beautiful natural meadow. Today we actually lost her beloved ball in that meadow. The wild flowers and herbs are so high there that it is impossible to find small items ones they dropped. Ami actually enjoys it more to carry the ball around instead of playing fetch. Every time she gets distracted by something she just drops it where she stands and when that is really high grass the ball is lost. Well yes, she can find it again, but this morning, after an hour telling her to find the ball, I really needed a coffee (didn’t had any before we went out). 🐶
After two years I finally figured out how to get emots in here. On my cellphone that would have been easy but not so much on my desktop pc. In the past there was a button in the WP toolbar but it seems they “upgraded” it away. But oh well, I got it sorted after all. 😎
Where ever you are, have a wonderful week ahead, stay safe, cool and happy. 🍰
