This is the last piece of 2021. I started this pair on Dec. 2nd and finished it today. Now I’m officially done with 2021. Everything finished up, no more lose ends.
2022 on the other hand just started and feels kinda odd. Dunno, kinda like the calm before the storm. I lack energy, the dog doesn’t want to go for walkies, there are no shiny photo motives, nothing fun going on. I kinda expect that the universe gonna drop a bomb sometime soon. Don’t get me wrong now, I don’t think it will be something bad, we had enough of that and you know that one rule even the most stubborn universe has to follow: everything has an end. So bad stuff out and good stuff in. More things to learn and discover, more good food, more colorful soft yarn for even more sox, much more walkies and lots of pawtastic photos. Oh and more coffee and sugar free candies. This year will be a smooth ride for all of us, I mean just look at that number . . . 2022 . . . ya, 2222 would look even cooler but we have to reincarnate about 2 times for that. =p
Okies, enough chatter for now. Back to knitting, started a new pair of sox already just to keep the flow up. Have a pawesome day everybody, stay healthy, happy and safe.

First of all, Happy New Year everybody. I hope it will be a pawesome year for all of us, with lots of happiness, joy, health and luck. Well, a new year always is a good point to try out new things. A fresh start kinda. We where running with the harness from Julius K 9 for year but right at the start my dog trainer warned me that those harnesses are not healthy at all. I, stubborn as I am, didn’t want to believe her but now I have to admit, she was right. Don’t get me wrong now, material and manufacturing wise they are top notch, practically indestructible. You even can wash them and they look like new again. The problem is the way it sits on the dog, especially around the shoulders. It is like one of these shoes that look very shiny but it’s impossible to walk in. It just kills your feet. So it was time to try out something new and our first pick is the one you see here. It fits much better and it does not affect her walking in any way. I could see it right from the start, she was walking different already. I like the look very much and the cherry on top is that you can decorate it with patches. At this point I can’t tell anything about the overall quality. Sure, it is very sturdy but still very light (the old one was quite heavy) but only time will tell how long it will actually last. We’ll see.
Have a pawesome weekend everybody, stay healthy and safe.

This is the week between the years. No other week is like this week. It’s almost a lil bit magical. Everything slows down and a lot of people are on off days (at least here in Germany). It’s time to draw a balance and look back a last time before we move on to the new year. 2021 wasn’t all that bad and made some nice progress. Ami now is officially a service dog, which exempt her from dog tax and this goes for every single future dog I may have. I learned a lot of new things, fixed a health issue that was annoying me since years and did a lot of knitting and crocheting (still have one sox to finish up haha). I stopped playing WoW in spring (not regretting that) and started this blog in august (not regretting it neither). The best is that we made it through this year without any major disasters and bruises. That was a first since decades.
I don’t do any New Years resolutions. I think that’s a bad habit. When you don’t stick to them you feel bad the entire year without any real reason. See, when you want to stop smoking, it will happen when you are ready for it and the time is right. That counts for everything else. My only “resolution” is to focus even more on positive things then good things will follow.
Have the most wonderful 2022, stay healthy, happy and safe. See you all next year. ❤
